Are you wrestling with a stress out child, an irritable child, a child who is aggressive or feeling isolated? Maybe you are dealing with a child who has been diagnosed with ADD and ADHD. Then you may be interested in what I have to say. Of course I will tell you that Brainwave Optimization is the very best solution for your child however I will also give you tips on dealing with your child and assist you in understanding how traumas can impact your children.
Parents come to me by referral from doctors and friends when nothing else has worked for the child’s mental health. They are often under pressure by the school system or psychiatrist to medicate their child so that they are more manageable in school. The parents who come to me may have tried this route without success or know somewhere deep in their heart that this is not the solution for their child. In my view ADD and ADHD are mental dysfunctions caused mainly by imbalance in the brain.
Questions that you can ask yourself. What type of infant was your child? Was the child calm or did the child suffer discomfort. When they suffered discomfort did they cry out in pain or did they tighten up their body. All of these type of behaviors could be pointing to the start of a trauma pattern. These types of traumas then begin to manifest into something bigger as they get older.
When you take part in Brainwave Optimization and have an assessment done you will be able to actually see what is happening in the brain and where the imbalances are.
When we see children who cannot self regulate themselves we can pretty much predicted that they have suffered some type of trauma. We may not know the kind of trauma or the inducement of the trauma but we do know that a trauma pattern was created and the brain tried to self correct or protect the person from the trauma and this is what caused the brain to be kicked out of balance.
When we work with children suffering with some sort of diagnoses such at ADD, ADHD, Aspersers, Autism etc we are happy to report that the diagnoses was not accurate. What was really going on was a trauma print that caused the brain to be kicked out of balance.
Why it works
The brain produces a dominate frequency in a range that we would like to see for self actualizing. Through our computer technology we are able to pick up this frequency and send it back to the brain in the form of a musical note and this sets up a resonate effect and creates a feedback loop. This is what brings about a balancing effect.
What are the results that we have seen?
One example:
We had a parent who were at their wit’s end. Their daughter was almost off the charts with ADD.
- Medications weren’t working
- Child was in constant, frantic motion
- Unable to dress herself due to impaired motor skills
- Couldn’t sleep
- Couldn’t take direction
- Could not perform simple addition or subtraction
- Socially isolated from her peers
She started sessions when she was 9, took approx 35 sessions over a period of a year. By the time she was 11 her teacher reported “her ability to reason has improved dramatically. A calm has taken over her. She is no longer bouncing off the walls. She is consistently scoring in the top 10% of her class.”
When this child first came to the centre we weren’t sure that we could actually work with her. She was a real challenge. Over time her who personality changed, she was funny and a delight to work with.
Ways you can help your child grow their best brain:
- Set consistent times for eating, sleeping and waking
- Set goals and respect limits
- Create variety: Take them to a science fair one weekend and an art fair the next weekend
- Create opportunities for social interaction with all age groups
- Make room for quiet time
- Remember that too much of anything is too much. The brain needs balance and harmony.
In my experience when children under go Brainwave Optimization sessions within a few sessions they begin to feel calmer, they sleep better, they report back to me that they are more relaxed at school an there ability to focus on their tasks improve. Does this mean that there is an instant noticeable improve in their school work, not necessarily. However, over time once they have had a chance to catch up on missing skills their marks do go up.
When I think of how the future of these young people have been altered it sends shivers up my spine. These young people are our future and giving them the gift of a balanced brain gives them the best chance to be the best they can be.
