Is your child struggling at school - diagnosed ADD or ADHD

Are you wrestling with a stress out child, an irritable child, a child who is aggressive or feeling isolated?  Maybe you are dealing with a child who has been diagnosed with ADD and ADHD.  Then you may be interested in what I have to say.  Of course I will tell you that Brainwave Optimization is the very best solution for your child however I will also give you tips on dealing with your child and assist you in understanding how traumas can impact your children.

Parents come to me by referral from doctors and friends when nothing else has worked for the child’s mental health.  They are often under pressure by the school system or psychiatrist to medicate their child so that they are more manageable in school.  The parents who come to me may have tried this route without success or know somewhere deep in their heart that this is not the solution for their child. In my view ADD and ADHD are mental dysfunctions caused mainly by imbalance in the brain.

Questions that you can ask yourself.  What type of infant was your child?  Was the child calm or did the child suffer discomfort.  When they suffered discomfort did they cry out in pain or did they tighten up their body.  All of these type of behaviors could be pointing to the start of a trauma pattern.  These types of traumas then begin to manifest into something bigger as they get older.

When you take part in Brainwave Optimization and have an assessment done you will be able to actually see what is happening in the brain and where the imbalances are.

When we see children who cannot self regulate themselves we can pretty much predicted that they have suffered some type of trauma.  We may not know the kind of trauma or the inducement of the trauma but we do know that a trauma pattern was created and the brain tried to self correct or protect the person from the trauma and this is what caused the brain to be kicked out of balance.

When we work with children suffering with some sort of diagnoses such at ADD, ADHD, Aspersers, Autism etc we are happy to report that the diagnoses was not accurate.  What was really going on was a trauma print that caused the brain to be kicked out of balance.

Why it works

The brain produces a dominate frequency in a range that we would like to see for self actualizing.  Through our computer technology we are able to pick up this frequency and send it back to the brain in the form of a musical note and this sets up a resonate effect and creates a feedback loop.  This is what brings about a balancing effect.

What are the results that we have seen?

One example:

We had a parent who were at their wit’s end.  Their daughter was almost off the charts with ADD.

  • Medications weren’t working
  • Child was in constant, frantic motion
  • Unable to dress herself due to impaired motor skills
  • Couldn’t sleep
  • Couldn’t take direction
  • Could not perform simple addition or subtraction
  • Socially isolated from her peers

She started sessions when she was 9, took approx 35 sessions over a period of a year.  By the time she was 11 her teacher reported   “her ability to reason has improved dramatically.  A calm has taken over her.  She is no longer bouncing off the walls.  She is consistently scoring in the top 10% of her class.”

When this child first came to the centre we weren’t sure that we could actually work with her.  She was a real challenge.  Over time her who personality changed, she was funny and a delight to work with.

Ways you can help your child grow their best brain:

  • Set consistent times for eating, sleeping and waking
  • Set goals and respect limits
  • Create variety:  Take them to a science fair one weekend and an art fair the next weekend
  • Create opportunities for social interaction with all age groups
  • Make room for quiet time
  • Remember that too much of anything is too much.  The brain needs balance and harmony.

In my experience when children under go Brainwave Optimization sessions within a few sessions they begin to feel calmer, they sleep better, they report back to me that they are more relaxed at school an there ability to focus on their tasks improve.  Does this mean that there is an instant noticeable improve in their school work, not necessarily.  However, over time once they have had a chance to catch up on missing skills their marks do go up.

When I think of how the future of these young people have been altered it sends shivers up my spine.  These young people are our future and giving them the gift of a balanced brain gives them the best chance to be the best they can be.

Five things you can do to improve mental and physical performance

Not everyone is able to access Brainwave Optimization™ when they need it, so here are five ways you can clear your mind and amp up your mental and physical capabilities in preparation to win that game or make that sale:

  1. Breathe in while slowly counting to five. Then, push the air out with your diaphragm, contracting your stomach while slowly counting to five.
  2. Slightly rub your thumb and index finger(s) together softly; in a light touch you can barely feel.
  3. Touch the tongue to the roof of your mouth just above the roots of your front teeth. This is a “chi” practices that works to reverse your flow of energy.
  4. Think about something you enjoy doing and envision in full detail the colors, temperature, feelings, and other sensations associated with that activity.
  5. Imagine that you have already achieved your desired result and invite in all the thoughts, feelings and visuals that come with your success.

Brain Awakening, Brainwave Optimization Calgary

Are you struggling in school, lacking focus and attention?

Brainwave optimization is something that I had really never heard about before my father's family friend mentioned it to me. It seemed a particularly abstract concept at first, but after trying it for myself I am convinced of its benefits. Through a process of audio stimuli and controlled mediation, my concentration has improved quite dramatically. It helped me channel my own inner strength, and to filter out the negative voices in my mind that prevented me from realizing my goals. It assisting me in being able to channel my concentration; and channel the full strength in my own mind to realize my full potential. This was done with my own effort and the assistance of Brainwave optimization

Prior to Brainwave Optimization I was not able to hold down a job and I was failing in school.  Now I am happy to report that my midterm marks are all in the 80's, which exceeds expectations.

I would highly recommend it as a therapy for anyone struggling with concentration problems and issues; and performance anxieties as I was.

Dan L, age 19

Suffering from Concussion, PTS, lack of concentration, mind foggy

On Nov. 7 2011, I started Brainwave optimization with Glenna Reid inCalgaryAlberta. Two and a half years ago I was out for a training ride on my road bike getting ready for Ironman TriathlonArizonain Nov. of 2009.   That dream soon ended as I was hit from behind by a car and the impact sent me hard to the ground striking my head on the pavement and cracking my helmet in half.  I have not been able to race since due to post concussion.  I spent many months off work and a lot of time in bed watching the world spin around me.  My life had changed so much that I really did not know who I was any more.  Little did I know that even though I returned to my feet after a few minutes, I would suffer with a head injury for over 2 years.  All the medical testing came up with no objective results, but I know there was way more going on then the medical profession could find.  Once I realized that I would have to seek the help I needed on my own.  I discovered Brainwave Optimization.  Feeling this could be one of the last chances I had at getting better I booked the sessions of Brainwave Optimization with Glenna Reid. After researching this procedure for a month I felt this could be very promising procedure to get me back to normal.  After the first day of Brain Training I felt results, I slept great that night and my hunger was under control.  As the sessions went on my head became clearer and clearer and my energy level improved very fast.  When I returned to work the following week, I found my concentration better and I was more production in my job.  It has been four weeks since brainwave optimization and I only feel better and better each week as Glenna described would happen.  One of the biggest improvements is in my ability to train at the intensity I once trained at before the accident.  I am looking forward to being able to complete a triathlon and compete in road bike races in 2012 thanks to Brainwave Optimization.  Thanks Glenna for the amazing work you do to help restore people back to a normal life after a head injury.

Brad Fehr, Edmonton Albera

Since I was a child thoughts raced through my head constantly.

I am 43 years old and for most of my life I have not sleep well.  I took different over-the-counter and prescription drugs, supplements and herbs which over time didn’t work however I became dependent on them.  I went to a sleep clinic which was very costly and didn’t help.  I had experts (doctors and psychologists) that told me it was all in my head, if I wanted to change I could.

Since early childhood my thoughts were racing through my head constantly day and night.   I would wake up exhausted from the busy night of constant dreams.  I lost my confidence over time as there were so many thoughts that I couldn’t separate the important ones from not so important or the smarts ones from not so smart.

3 years ago I went through fertility treatments and a difficult pregnancy and birth of my twins.  That process depleted by hormonal levels, left me even more exhausted and on even more medications.  I also had severe abdominal pain as a result of a caesarean section complications.

After session with Glenna Reid at Brain Awakening my sleep improved.   I have energy and clarity,  my focus and confidence improved to levels that I never experienced before.  My hormones are balanced which was proven via blood testing and I am very excited that I am pain free and not taking any pain, hormonal or sleeping pills.  What a relief!!!

Now I am clear on what to do and have and the energy to execute my intentions.  I have energy in the evening to play with our twin girls  instead of lying down next to them by 6 PM.  I decided to take post-secondary training again.  My life is now as I wanted to have it for decades.

Thank you Glenna and Brainwave Optimization.

Suffering from Concussion, PTS, not thinking clearly, mind foggy

I recently had a client who came to me who was hit by a car 2.5 years ago while riding his bike.  He felt that he had not fully recovered and the best the doctors could do was to offer him depression medication.  My client knew that it was not depression that was causing the problem.  He knew there was something that was just not right in his brain.  He was suffering from the effects of a concussion, PTS (being nervous when driving or riding his bike), feeling very tired and could not think clearly.

After the Brainwave Optimization sessions he felt great through the whole day, sugar cravingsPost concussion, PTS, Feeling very Tired gone, eating less and not feeling hungry.  Sleep improved dramatically, clear head, calm mind and much more productive throughout the day.  In general more up beat and energized.

Side benefit was that up close vision improved and the great news is he is back on his bike with a clear head and more energy had the best work out since the accident.

I am so grateful for this technology.

webinars header PTSD

WEDNESDAY, NOV 16

2:30 - 3:30 P.M. (MOUNTAIN TIME)

PTSD is nothing new. In 2,000 B.C., the Egyptians described adverse psychological effects of war. Modern-day public awareness of the problem escalated with the war in Vietnam. But the prevalence and severity of today's PTSD is far beyond anything we have experienced before. Yet, sometimes it feels as if diagnosis and treatment are still back in the Dark Ages. The advent of technology may have allowed us to build a better bomb, but did you know that is has also allowed us to build a better brain?

Brainwave Optimization™ was developed precisely to understand and alleviate the effects of physical and emotional trauma. Nearly every one of our 35,000 clients come to us as a result of trauma - they can't sleep, feel edgy or irritable, have intrusive thoughts, have difficulty focusing and concentrating, feel numb or disinterested in life. Although others will classify this as a "mental health" disorder, but we can show you with real scientific evidence exactly how your brain functioning has been affected by the traumas you've experienced.

Your behaviors are not the result of weakness of willful misconduct; they are the result of your brain working hard to survive. With Brainwave Optimization, your brain learns how to change destructive patterns and arrive at new clarity, hope and health.

Join Lee Gerdes, himself a survivor of PTSD, for this informative discussion and learn how a new tool has already helped thousands of people overcome PTSD and return to a life worth living.

Unconventional Brain Treatment aiding injured Phoenix Coyotes Defenseman Kurt Sauer

by Sarah McLellan - Sept. 17, 2011 03:27 PM
The Arizona Republic

It was business as usual Friday when the Coyotes reported for medical testing, one of the first official steps toward kick-starting the season.

There were familiar faces, captain Shane Doan and defenseman Keith Yandle, wandering the bowels of Jobing.com Arena, and there were more than a few new faces. Goaltender Mike Smith was there, alongside sparkplug forward Raffi Torres and journeyman Daymond Langkow.

And then there was a face that was recognizable but hadn't greeted the locker room in almost two years.

Injured defenseman Kurt Sauer arrived for his physical, since he is still under contract with the team for one more season, but don't expect the 30-year-old to don a Coyotes sweater anytime soon.

"Unfortunately his injury has not changed at all in a couple years now," Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney said. " ... You just feel more for the person."

Sauer is still suffering from a neck injury he suffered in a preseason game in September 2009, but a return to the ice still rests within the realm of possibility thanks to an innovative method of treatment that targets Sauer's brainwave activity.

"I still have a lot of hope in feeling better, feeling 100 percent, being able to play with my kids and maybe even a chance to play hockey again," Sauer said.

For the past four months, Sauer has been undergoing brainwave optimization at Brain State Technologies. The Scottsdale-based company attempts to restore the balance and harmony in the brain that was lost due to a physical or emotional blow.

A new approach

Sauer discovered Brain State Technologies after the company's public-information coordinator, Dianne Price, commented on a story The Republic published in April on Sauer's status at the time.

"I thought we could probably help this guy," Price said.

Sauer's wife, Carmen, saw the comment, as did a Jobing.com Arena employee who contacted the Sauers to make sure they saw the post. After several visits with specialists who were not able to help, Sauer figured he'd give this method a try.

"Basically I had nothing to lose," he said.

In May, Sauer received a general assessment of his brain from Brain State Technologies founder and CEO Lee Gerdes. In these initial scans, Gerdes inspects hundreds of areas of the brain and expects to see about a 10 percent differential in brainwave functioning between the left and right sides of the brain. The difference in function in Sauer's brain was anywhere between 20 and 80 percent.

"Every area we looked at was really, really out of balance," Gerdes said.

Still, Gerdes couldn't guarantee that he could help because some brains are too traumatized to be responsive. That worried Sauer because nothing else had been able to help him, and time kept skipping along.

"I had tears in my eyes just thinking about it because I don't want to stay in this state," he recalled.

But, the treatment was effective.

For the first week, Sauer went for two sessions a day for five consecutive days with each session lasting approximately an hour and a half. During the session, Sauer sat in a chair with sensors hooked up to different parts of his head, depending on what area of the brain Gerdes wanted to target. The electromagnetic energy from his brainwaves is picked up and displayed on a computer screen, and it's the sound from that activity that is sent back to Sauer via headphones. That tone is what corrects the imbalance of the frequencies between the left and right sides of his brain.

Real results

Sauer has NHL insurance to help with the financial challenges. An initial assessment and 10 sessions of treatment costs $2,000.

After his third day of treatment, Sauer slept through the night - something he had not been able to do since the injury. After five days, he played football with his sons and the neighborhood kids.

"I must have been feeling good because I took on the whole team," Sauer said.

It was the first time he had run since 2006.

He's had about 40 sessions, and Sauer's brain is 80 percent of the way to being at the normal, healthy, functioning level.

A Mayo Clinic spokesperson said neurologists with the hospital weren't familiar with the treatment, but Sauer has experienced concrete results.

The headaches that plagued him incessantly throughout the day have diminished. He can now play hockey with mini sticks in his family room with his children. His four boys can hug their dad without hurting his neck.

And over the summer in Minnesota, Sauer skated for 40 minutes with his kids and his brother, New York Rangers defenseman Michael Sauer. He was passing the puck and firing one-timers at the net. Sauer felt a bit of a headache, but he didn't have to recover with a nap afterward like he used to.

"It's getting better," Sauer explained. "There's still more to go, and I'm excited for it. . . . I keep frustration at a minimum because the hope there is much higher."

Like he was five months ago even without a method of treatment, Sauer isn't ready to give up hockey.

"When my brain comes back, my body can come back," he said. "And do I have to start all over? Definitely. But who does start at the top? I never started at the top my whole hockey career."

While Sauer remains hopeful of restarting his NHL career, the reality is that he faces long odds - especially considering the current climate of increased vigilance for head injuries. The hurdles also include finding a team willing to take a chance on him.

But if the most glory he'll ever get again is from a game of mini sticks with his boys, that's not too shabby of an option either.

"I'm focused on myself, trying to get rid of my pain, to get going so I have a chance to play again," Sauer said. "Whether it's to play again competitively or just fun with my boys, at this point it's a win-win situation for me."
